Internet wireless no Linux

Gente venho aqui para tentar amenizar minha dificuldade em ver uma solução para uma conexão wireless que uso em particular na minha casa, vou dar uns logs dela aqui retiradas do windows o Mint está em dual boot com ele devida a esta "minha" dificuldade em compreender porque não consigo uma boa velocidade com a mesma conexão no Mint.
O driver que tem no windows é o Ralink, versão do driver 1.4.6.0 802.11 gWlan, isso no "ruinas" que dá uma conexão até boa, mas no Mint ou em qualquer outro SO Linux percebe uma certa perca de velocidade com essa conexão.
Agora vou ao Mint pegar informações mais precisas no terminal.

E assim trazendo certa dificuldade para a atualização do sistema, que tem que ser feita com uma das duas opções ou por um cabo de rede com a conexão do meu cyber (lá se vai um cabo de 10 Mts) ou usando o "AptOnCD".
